Each day, the pace of life in the world, particularly in Latin America , it becomes faster, the demands of the context so cause . This bustle was caused by the so-called "process of modernity", which has increased a consumer society, dependent on technology, individualistic and competitive in the workplace. Families in these circumstances are often abandoned in the sense of union and interaction of its members. One of the consequences orthe ex-lead growth of the constant changes and stress often resulting therefrom,isthesingle-parentfamilystructure,whosemaincausesareparentaldivorceordesertion ofoneofthem,thedeathofoneparentorlabormigration,andthestatusofmotherorpadresolterismo. Against this background the children: children or adolescents are faced with a condition which must cope with the parent by assuming the form of a higher responsibility to family and often playing the role of an adult. In parallel , they should continue studying, playing and dreaming appropriately, many do not and are immersed in situations of risk, but a large percentage of children and teenagers surely sobrellevarán of adversity and even more , they achieve emerge strongerwill be resilie. The present study was developed around the theme of resilience in children belonging to a single parent. It is intended to identify the presence of this capacity and the dynamics of the factors involved. The subjects are children of 9-12 years of General Education Unit "Esteban Arce".
