Fruity biol is a natural fertilizer that favors the development and protection of plants against diseases and pests and does not generate a significant environmental impact. The present work was developed in the city of Tacna, Peru, and began with obtaining a mother solution of fruity biol recovered after straining fruit residues, whey, molasses, and efficient microorganisms mixed with water, which went through a process of aerobic fermentation for 25 days in a plastic container. Subsequently, the stock solution was diluted in % v/v of 5 L/200 L of water. Next, the cultivation of kiwicha plants (Amaranthus caudatus) var. Óscar Blanco, to which four different doses of the dilution obtained (50, 60, 70, and 80 L/ha) were applied weekly for five months via “droch” to the neck of the plant and were distributed in four blocks of 25 m2 each. Drip water irrigation was used, with inter-daily periods of 30 to 40 minutes. The response variables evaluated were the height of the plants after five months of cultivation, the weight of the inflorescence, and the yield of the kiwicha after four months of cultivation. It was determined that the phenological period of kiwicha in Tacna was four months, proving that it is not a water- demanding crop (average demand of 2000 m3 of water in one hectare of land per campaign).
