Resumen

ARIAS ARREDONDO, Alberto Gilmer et al. Forage yield and nutritive value of two varieties of avena sativa (Creole and Mantaro-15) in the central highlands of Peru. RIIARn [online]. 2021, vol.8, n.2, pp.54-60.  Epub 31-Ago-2021. ISSN 2409-1618.  https://doi.org/10.53287/pccm3923xs47i.

Specialized The low animal productivity (meat, wool and milk) during the dry season producers look for alternatives to improve this deficiency with the installation of permanent and annual pastures, which have better forage yields and nutritional quality. The objective of the study was to determine the forage yield and nutritional value of two varieties of Avena sativa (Criolla and Mantaro-15) in the central highlands of Peru. The study was conducted in the Pasco and Junin regions, with the objective of determine the forage yield and nutritive value of two varieties of avena sativa in the central mountain of Peru. For this, forage yields (GM, DM and %DM) were studied and nutritive value was analyzed (%PT, %FDN, %FDA, %DIVMO, %Ca, %P y EM) of the oats. A randomized complete block design was used for statistical analysis. The results for Criolla oat’s forage yield in GM (14 456.0 kg ha-1), DM (2 423.4 kg ha-1) y %DM (16.8), Mantaro-15 oat’s in GM (21 067.0 kg ha-1) y DM (3 215.0 kg ha-1) y %DM (15.5). The nutritive value for Criolla and Mantaro-15 oats in %PT (7.1 y 6.8), %FDN (42.9 y 34.8), %FDA (19.9 y 16.1), %DIVMO (87.8 y 78.9), %Ca (0.2 y 0.2), %P (0.2 y 0.2) y EM (14.0 y 12.6) respectively. It´s concluded that Mantaro-15 oat has better forage yield and a better quality of fiber, and in both cover the requirements of sheep showing a positive balance.
