Digital competencies allow students to access and evaluate information critically, communicate and collaborate in virtual environments, use technological tools for learning and solve problems creatively. Thus, the objective of the article was to identify the effects and benefits of the integration of digital competencies in the teaching and learning process in higher education through a systematic literature review of the last 5 years, taking into account the works published in the databases Scopus, Dialnet, Google Scholar and Ebsco.
