Resumen

CRUZ NIETO, Dante Daniel et al. Fertilization based on market waste for a higher yield of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.). A sustainable alternative. Rev. Inv. Cs. Agro. y Vet. [online]. 2022, vol.6, n.17, pp.336-345.  Epub 02-Ago-2022. ISSN 2664-0902.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistaalfa.v6i17.172.

The increase and shortage of fertilizers have reduced crop production and this has had an impact on food prices. The objective was to determine the adequate dose of compost based on market residues to increase lettuce yields. The method is based on applied research; therefore, a Completely Randomized Block Design was used, consisting of 3 blocks and 5 treatments: T1 = 0, T2 = 45 g, T3 = 60 g, T4 = 75 g and T5 = 90 g/plant, applied 7 days after transplanting. Plant physical characteristics and nitrogen availability were evaluated in relation to the doses. Data were obtained and processed by analysis of variance and Duncan. It was determined that T4 stood out in plant length with 25.86 cm, but T5 in lettuce weight with 128.23 g, yield with 12.25 tn/ha, equatorial diameter with 21.12 cm and nitrogen availability with 200.4 kg/ha. It is concluded that the highest dose, T5, obtained a higher yield, which differed by 40.81 % with respect to the control, this is due to the addition of nitrogen and other nutrients, which had a greater availability that optimized the biochemical reactions and this influenced yield.
