Water is essential in agricultural production. Objective. Apply a geospatial model to identify areas suitable for harvesting runoff water within the Alto Pozuzo basin, in Peru. Materials and Methods. The inputs were the Digital Elevation Model at a resolution of 5 meters, a raster of the clay content of the soils in (g/kg) and the raster of the land use classification. Results. With the geospatial simulation, it was determined that 2.488% have a raster layer of optimal slope (only 11.805% of the basin), 273,396 channels were identified with order one of dense water network, and with a raster layer of optimal morphometric weighting 3.502 %. Conclusions. The areas with suitability for harvesting runoff water obtained were 303 optimal and 1,144 very suitable; of the sectors of Chontabamba, Chacos, Oxapampa-Huancabamba section, Anturachi and Mayanpampa.
