Resumen

GONZALEZ, Marcos Antonio Sánchez et al. Effect of a foliar fertilizer on the production of Lactuca sativa L. Rev. Inv. Cs. Agro. y Vet. [online]. 2024, vol.8, n.22, pp.232-243.  Epub 20-Ene-2024. ISSN 2664-0902.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistaalfa.v8i22.261.

The use of organic fertilizers in agriculture improves soil fertility, increases crop yields, and promotes sustainable agricultural practices. The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of different doses of foliar fertilizer on the development and yield of two varieties of Lactuca sativa L. (Grand Rapids TBR, Mimosa Salad Bowl). A Completely Randomized Block Design with a 2x4 factorial arrangement was applied. Factor A represented two lettuce varieties, and Factor B represented four doses of foliar fertilizer (0; 1; 2; and 3 lt. ha-1). Measurements included root length, number of leaves per plant, fresh and dry weight per plant, leaf length and diameter, yield per hectare, and days to harvest. The Mimosa variety had a higher fresh yield (5080.20 Kg/ha) compared to Grand Rapids (2064.53 Kg/ha). Analyzing the different fertilizer doses overall, fresh yield decreased at the third dose, with values of 4349.86 Kg/ha, 3793.98 Kg/ha, 3444.11 Kg/ha, and 2701.52 Kg/ha for doses 2, 3, 1, and 0 respectively. The Mimosa variety showed better results in number of leaves, fresh and dry weight, root length, and yield, with the recommended fertilizer dose being 2 lt. ha-1.

Palabras clave : Carboxylates; Grand Rapids TBR; Gibberellins; Fertilizers; Mimosa Salad Bowl.
