Abstract The text traces different subjects: the competences of the author in translation colleges that makes him to confirm straightforwardly what is a by trade public translator and a creative translator, who, in principie, subsists on translation, and who later does it for delight. Paraphrasing Paul Valéry, translation of imperishable poemsisalwaysawork-in-progressthatisnoteverfinished -nevertheless- it is merely abandoned. Each generation must do it. Uncertainties when translated. Proximate and distant approximations. Why and for what purpose do we transíate? If the poetry is a way to transform the world, translation of poetry is a new transformation. Of the arduous syllabic, rhythmic, meaning, words, and blank spaces while translating. Is the theory necessary for the run-through? Is there a poetics of translation or does each translator have his own? Crucial importance of poetry as a modelling of peoples and nations. The poem can be translated from different belvederes. Several and assorted types of translation. Babel as a symbol of the multiplicity of languages to be translated.
