CADAMURO INOSTROZA, Irving Osmán. Personal and professional impact of an academic program on working adult students in a Chilean University. Edu. Sup. Rev. Cient. Cepies [online]. 2022, vol.9, n.3, pp.33-40. ISSN 2518-8283.
Abstract The study explores the meaning constructed by adult working students at the Universidad Arturo Prat in Santiago, Chile, regarding the professional and personal impact of pursuing a program of study between 2020 and 2021. The methodology considers a qualitative approach according to a phenomenological paradigm and with case logic. It considers a population of 120 students with a non-probabilistic sample and a unit of analysis of 100 students of the engineering career in business administration of the Centro Docente y Vinculación of the Universidad Arturo Prat in Santiago de Chile. The collection of information is approached from a prospective perspective and its analysis is of an interpretative nature. The main results of the research, from the point of view of the impact of training on professional development, indicate that their studies will allow them to apply for higher level positions and, incidentally, will provide them with a wider range of job offers. From a personal education, new challenges and the fulfillment of personal goals that had been postponed are proposed. The fundamental conclusion that emerges from this study is related to the importance that students attribute to obtaining a university degree that improves their work and economic activity, as well as the projection of new professional scenarios and progress in their quality of life
