The quality in health is the provision of accessible and equal services offered with professional quality and the available resources that reach the satisfaction user. According to the WHO estimated that the third world population doesn't have access to the essential medications. Methods.- Transverse and descriptive study carried out in November 2007, 146 surveys were realized to parents or caregivers of patients covered (Universal Infantile Maternal Sure) in an Emergency Unit of "Dr. Ovidio Aliga Uría" Children's Hospital Of La Paz Bolivia, to evaluate the quality of medical assistance according to the WHO quality indicators. Critical patients and those whose family refused to collaborate with the study were excluded. Results.- 146 evaluated patients, 122 (83,5%) clinical files and 79 (57,2%) prescriptions were incomplete. The WHO quality indicators they were completed in 85.5%. Discussion.- We found that the medical assistance lasted 15 minutes in 77,6%. The antibiotic prescription proportion was 29.9%, similar to other international reports of pediatric teaching centers (23,4% to 58,8%). The availability and use of essential medications was 97,4% bigger to local and international reports. Conclusion.- We report high-performance quality indicators WHO at a third level center of Pediatric Teaching Hospital. There are few researches of medical assistance quality in our country. Investigations in this field are still scarce, that's why we encouraged doing similar studies in other medical specialties.
