VARGAS V., Sergio  e  LANGE V., Diego. Air pollutant measurement system based on a UAV, preliminary results. RevActaNova. [online]. 2015, vol.7, n.2, pp.194-212. ISSN 1683-0789.

Pollutant gases monitoring takes place in most of developed countries in stations located in cities and areas affected by pollutant emissions. These stations provide a point-cloud that allows to study the evolution of pollutants at ground level. In the troposphere, especially inside the atmospheric boundary layer (ABL), remote sensing systems such as radars, sunphotometers or atmospheric LIDAR systems (also radiosondes) are used because their vertical-profiles generating capability. However, the cost of these systems can be very high, which limits research and study of the behavior of the atmosphere in countries or communities that do not have a tradition in research or resources to do so. In this document, a key-pollutant gases measurement system based on a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), is proposed. This system can generate vertical profiles of pollutants to an initial level of 300 m, with the possibility of reaching the limit of the stable layer generated overnight. Ozone (O3), carbón monoxide (CO), Atmospheric Particulate Matter (PM10), temperature and atmospheric pressure are monitored. Preliminary measurements of these gases are also shown in Cochabamba city (Bolivia).
