MARQUEZ CERRON, Marlit  e  OSVALDO ADUVIRE², Ernesto. Optimización en el tratamiento de efluentes ácidos de una compañía minera y cumplimiento de límites máximos permisibles. REV. MAMYM [online]. 2024, vol.9, n.1, pp.13-24. ISSN 2519-5352.

Abstract The heavy metals and acidity contained in acidic mine effluent cause significant damage to bodies of water, soils, and other living organisms, which in turn are difficult to remove cheaply and effectively. This article analyzes the importance of optimizing the acid effluent treatment system in amining company, to comply with the maximum permissible limits (LMP), from this, the ideal treatment for this type of effluent is chosen. The active method was proposed by neutralization with calcium hydroxide as the main reagent in the PTAM. The water to be treated comes mainly from the mine interior, surface contact water, and concentrator plant. (clarified water from the tailings dam), a part of the treated water is reused in the concentrator plant process and the surplus is discharged into a receiver body. To optimize the treatment system, peristaltic pumps were acquired for the dosage of reagents and pH sensors, the lime preparation area, and the construction of the PTAM were optimized, sedimentation tests were also carried outto determine the optimal concentration of Ca (OH)2, flocculant, and sodium bisulfite. Finally, it is concluded with a removal of >99% of metals, therefore, the maximum permissible limits of Supreme Decree No. 010-2010-MINAM are met.
