MEDINACELLI, Ximena. Bolivia, su historia: an opportunity to reflect on the contribution made by general histories of Bolivia. Tinkazos [online]. 2015, vol.18, n.37, pp.9-29. ISSN 1990-7451.

Five professiónals analyse the educational and political role that general histories of Bolivia have played, finding that the books currently in circulation have different objectives and reach different audiences. Despite the advances and high standards attained by Bolivian historiography, it is evident that the negative imagery dating back to Arguedas is hard to break. With a view to closing the gap between academic works and those written for a general audience, the authors reflect here on what a collective history might look like.
