Sucre is a tourist town that hosts cultural riches distributed in different museums, one of them is the University Museum Colonial Charcas which has a large collection of paintings, whose deposits conservation sampling of oil was performed on canvas to identify microorganisms that cause spoilage, also microbiological control of environments where these beautiful works of art are stored performed. For development a descriptive, observational and cross-sectional study was adopted. Analyzed 20 pictorial samples whose results show the prevalence of microorganisms of bacterial type contaminating 95% of the paintings compared to 50% of fungi in the same unlike the thesis work performed the previous administration in the same Museum prevalence of fungi. This difference may be due to the time when the sampling was performed confirming that a moist environment is conducive to fungal growth. Regarding the microbiological control of environments, microbial growth despite noteworthy efforts by restorers to keep free works of factors which may cause deterioration, making this museum one of the best preserved cultural heritage.
