Abstract Nursing training actions for the care of patients with HIV/AIDS fulfill a significant task when they are organized in a planned manner, linked to actions complemented by follow-ups and evaluations from the university system.  The investigation reveals the number of public institutions committed and acting with actions to solve the problem. It also identifies the skills required in the workplace, which public officials must have until the link with the praxis of care for patients with HIV / AIDS and ends by analyzing the application of the training action in the subjects of university professional training.  The systematization of the result of the training reveals that only a third of the contents of the HIV/AIDS topic are mainstreamed in the subjects taught during professional training. In addition, it makes visible that three quarters of the nursing assistants feel fear during the care of the patient with HIV/AIDS, in the Nursing Career, stresses that they should be raised from the sixth part as transversal themes to the so-called core subjects, to influence the indicator improvement; It also reveals that in the subject of prevention and risk of infection of STIs and HIV, which have an approximate rate of forty-three percent, they are decisive in influencing the improvement of the quality of life of patients
