Obesity and overweight there are structural and functional changes of the liver changes are accentuated in adults so if we want to describe fatty liver related to obesity and describe its characteristics of liver function in children in our environment.This is a prospective study of children from 6 to 14 years with degree of obesity and overweight attending outpatient at "Hospital Obrero # 2" with abdominal ultrasound and liver function tests prior agreement of the parents, to determine incidence of children with hepatic steatosis or steatohepatitis as (fatty liver) to liver function are altered those entering our study. It has been studied 17 children aged 4-14 years old with overweight of which 50% had fatty liver; 71% and 65% obese fatty liver by ultrasound. Alkaline Phosphatase and elevated transaminases in 35% as reference data, 67% high cholesterol,triglycerides and blood glucose 97% off 4% range. Obesity with central body fat was greater, and the most prevalent age group was female and adolescents between 11 and 13 years. In conclusion, Childhood overweight and obesity is a Pathology associated with fatty liver (hepatic steatosis) and abnormal liver function so it should implement protocols for diagnostic screening for Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in children and adolescents with any degree of overweight and obesity.
