The irruption of technology in the contemporary daily life has reached education as well. Both students and teachers must be capable of using it throughout the educative process and achieve that the student can learn in a proper and constant way. Therefore, this article was aimed at determining whether the digital competencies are related to the strategic learning. This was a quantitative research, with a non- experimental design and correlational and descriptive in scope. The sample, probabilistic and by quotas, was composed of 284 students from the Faculty of Education of the National University of San Marcos. They all were administered two instruments: the Inventory of Digital Competencies of Mengual (2011) and the Strategic Learning Questionnaire of Manuel Torres (2015). The results obtained using Spearman’s Rho non-parametric statistic show the existence of relationships between both variables (r = 0. 87), as well as significant correlations between their dimensions, thus supporting the research hypothesis.
